Here is what else there is around the showground for visitors to enjoy:

Trade stands

A wide range of products are on sale around the showground including from agricultural, outdoor and equestrian businesses. Browse the many stalls at your leisure which are mainly located around the main arena. We have a dedicated craft marquee, filled with stalls of locally produced craft items and handmade goods.

Pet Dog Show

Our charity Pet Dog Show is always a very popular event. With show and novelty classes there’s something to suit everyone. Bring your dog along for a day out at the show and help raise money for selected charities. Rosettes to all placed competitors and prizes donated by Harvest Animal Feeds. All first prize winners are in with a chance of winning ‘Best in Show’ held at the end of all the classes.

Food and drink

We aim for both high quality and wide variety in our range of foods and drinks, so as many of our stands as possible provide locally-produced foodstuffs, catering for all diets, including vegetarian, vegan, diabetic and gluten-free. With the huge choice of meals and snacks on offer in the food court, there is always something for every taste.

To eat on the go, there are traditional breakfasts, bacon butties, black peas, black puddings, chips, curries, samosas, filled baked potatoes and hog roasts. You may even like to try ostrich, bison, kangaroo or camel T-cakes!

To take home, we always have locally made Lancashire pies, cheeses and home-produced and rare breed meats, and a large selection of world food, savoury and sweet, from Asia to the West Indies, taking in China, Germany, Italy, India, Mauritius, Mexico, Spain, and Poland!

There is also a large range of home made honey and preserves to enhance them.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are pancakes and doughnuts, candy floss and fudge, home made ice cream, cakes and biscuits and a huge choice of traditional, old-fashioned sweets.

For the thirsty, a cup of freshly ground coffee, chocolate or a refreshing cup of tea is always available, as are fresh fruit juices and soft drinks, traditional home produced natural cordials, and of course a cold glass of something stronger for the adults, from one of our specialist stands or the public beer tents, supplying a large range of local real ales, lagers, ciders, and spirits.

Sheep Shearing Display

Come and learn all about sheep shearing, including different breeds of sheep and see demonstrations of the different techniques used throughout the years. Look out for demonstrations throughout the day.

We are thrilled to welcome back the Mini Pony Show who debuted their performance skills at Great Harwood Show back in 2022.

Their displays comprise all manner of trickery imaginable between the ponies, Rosie, and the audience. There’s fancy liberty footwork, dog agility ponies, a mathematician pony, a one man pony band, plenty of audience participation and even a death defying balancing act!

Bowley Hill Trail Race

Kindly run by Trawden Athletic Club, the trail race sees runners from around Lancashire tackle the famous ‘Bowley Hill’. The race is a terrific route around 5.8 miles (9.3km) of mixed scenic paths and trail bridleways.

If you don’t fancy taking part yourself, watch the runners set off from the main arena at 11am. The finish line is near to the main pedestrian entrance.

Entry information to the race is available here

Accrington Bonsai Club Display and Demonstrations

Our dedicated bonsai marquee is where you can find the bonsai trees and demonstrations by Accrington Bonsai Club.

Accrington Bonsai Club are a small friendly society, some of whose members have just started to explore the world on bonsai, while others have many years of experience and own some fine specimens.
